The National Bank of Vanuatu continue doing business while other banks are cutoff with unreliable data and voice communication

National Bank of Vanuatu
With unreliable data and voice communication between 22 branches across Vanuatu, the National Bank of Vanuatu (NBV) was paying high prices and getting poor service from its telecoms provider.
NBV had seen how Oceanic Broadband had built a system for the universities in Papua New Guinea (PNGARNET) and saw how this could apply to their purposes.

Satellite communications
With its own independent satellite and wireless communications systems from Oceanic Broadband, NBV were able to keep their ATMs and branches open and doing business while the islands communications were recently disrupted.
NBV could provide banking and ATM services for a week while other banks were left unable to provide services to their customers in Santo.
